Working Slack Jean
Working’s denim interpretation of the Slack Pant, translating the dual side seam through to denim, with patch pockets, olive green herringbone twill pocket bags, and concealed pockets at each hip. The split selvage outseam references Lee half-selvage models, but instead the selvage is full with an added shaping panel. Selvage seams can only be straight, so to add shape to the leg an extra, tapering panel is added between the straight selvage edges.
The full rise fly references bondage trousers, gives a cleaner front, and is a novel solution to the fly end debate waged through manufacturers patents in the late 19th Century. The left zipped side pocket pocket bag fits in behind the main side pocket, while the flapped right side pocket bag faces backwards. The tapered fit, deep hems and curved vertical front pockets recall casual men’s slacks, which give these jeans their name.
14oz right hand twill skewed, singed, and sanforized fabric woven by Edwin in Japan from American cotton with a deep blue-black indigo dye over a brown cotton weft. Black denim is sulphur dyed over a brown weft, and is woven full width, so no selvage shows on the leg seams.
